About the role
Our new colleague will be responsible for cost accounting and industrial controlling activities, including SOX compliance of the applicable controls. Will also ensure timely and accurate inventory valuation and P&L (Gross Margin) determination and the internal controls on the assets at the location.
Main activities:
- Analyze and periodically coordinate the update of standard costs in the system in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and with Bunge policies
- Jointly with FP&A colleagues, reconcile and report the main variances between the business forecast and the actual P&L at gross margin level
- During the month-end close, analyze and validate all relevant variances between standard and actual costs
- Coordinate periodic inventory counts
- Monitor with BBS the daily reconciliation of the weighing systems and SAP records.
- Implement, monitor, and ensure compliance of all relevant SOX controls applicable to industrial operations.
- Coordinate with the operation team the proper execution of PTP processes at the plants. Jointly with the plant manager, ensure POs are properly requested and approved before the non-commodity goods and services are received. Supervise the timely and accurate recording of receipts of goods and services.
- Provide required information and documentation to internal and external auditors, discuss and validate audit findings, establish and execute remediation action plans when applicable
Who are you?
You can easily describe yourself as a well organized person with attention to details and a strong will to grow in an accountant role. Your communication skills play also a meaningful part as you can discuss, agree, and communicate complex accounting and internal controls matters at different levels of the organization.
Experience and background:
- Bachelor degree in finance, accounting, economics, or equivalent
- Fluency in English, dutch preferred
- Ideally a minimum of 2 years experience in cost accounting/operational controlling
- Proven working experience in standard costing processes in SAP is preferred
- Experience in an international organization within an agricultural commodity or food ingredient company will give you a head start
